CYCLONE Idai was an extreme weather phenomenon that Zimbabwe was ill-prepared for hence its inability to fully protect its citizens resulting in the death of hundreds most of whom are still missing or were buried in Mozambique where they were pulled out of flooded rivers.
Its landscape in Chimanimani and Chipinge only suffered what at worst were ‘cyclone makeovers’ that left them rugged but in tact. The people, shown a lot of kindness by the global community have managed to retain their friendliness even when one can see what shock and pain they see.
